Thoroughbred owner and breeder William Carl, founder of the equine insurance specialist Old Colony Insurance Service and owner of Wakefield Farm, died Jan. 12 at age 78. A funeral service is to take place Thursday at 11 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 460 E. Main Street, in Lexington, Ky. Visitation was set for Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Milward on Broadway in Lexington.
