Wild Desert to stand in New York

Frank Mitchell|Dec 26, 2007
Queen's Plate winner Wild Desert has been retired and will stand in New York as the property of a partnership that includes Sandford Goldfarb, Michael Dubb, Joe Torre, and Mel Burroughs at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds in 2008 for a fee of $7,500 live foal.

Farm owner Joe McMahon said that the "partners have had a racing stable for several years with Dick Dutrow Jr., but this is their first foray into standing a stallion. They have committed to send about 30 mares to the horse to help get him off to a strong start."

Wild Desert, a 5-year-old son of Wild Rush and the Desert Wine mare Desert Radiance, earned more than $1 million while racing from 2 through 5.
