Wholelottamo scores head victory in Take Charge Brandi

Wholelottamo was up for a head win over Miss Jana in the $75,000 Take Charge Brandi Stakes on Friday at Delta Downs.
It was the first career training victory for Jayde Gelner, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form. Gelner has had one other start, with Majestic Ways, who was eighth in the Take Charge Brandi.
The two-turn, seven-furlong race was for 3-year-old fillies who have started at Delta during the current meet, excluding open company stakes.
Wholelottamo ($5) was the lone stakes winner in the Take Charge Brandi, having captured the $50,000 Louisiana Cup Juvenile last August at Louisiana Downs. She defeated Free Like a Girl, who has become a dominant filly and who recently won a Delta stakes over Wholelottamo before leaving for Oaklawn to run Saturday in the Grade 3, $300,000 Honeybee.
Wholelottamo was content to let the pace go in the Take Charge Brandi, as Miss Jana set fractions of 23.38 seconds for the opening quarter and 48.66 for the half-mile. Wholelottamo advanced quickly on the final turn and worked her way past the leader through the stretch. She was timed in 1:29.89 over a muddy track that was sealed.
Thomas Pompell was aboard for Thompson Racing and Gelner.
Wholelottamo is a daughter of Mo Tom who has now won 3 of 8 starts for earnings of $148,845.
