Arthur’s Ride, winner of last year’s Grade 1 Whitney, has been retired from racing and will be cataloged as a stallion prospect to the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. The 5-year-old Arthur’s Ride, by Tapit, will be consigned by Lane’s End, as agent for the Glassman Racing of Karl and Cathi Glassman. Until sale time, he will be available for inspection by appointment at Margaux Farm. “Arthur’s Ride gave us a tremendous thrill and it was an honor to win a race like the Whitney,” Karl Glassman said in a release. “We are looking forward to him getting a great opportunity to begin his new career as a stallion.” :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! His signature performance came in the 2024 Whitney, his stakes debut, which he won by 2 1/4 lengths. The field of 10 included subsequent Eclipse Award champion National Treasure and seven other graded stakes winners. Arthur’s Ride earned a 110 Beyer Speed Figure. Arthur’s Ride finished fifth in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup and 12th in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He made one start this year, finishing third in an allowance/optional-claiming race on July 26 at Saratoga. He had no published works following that race. Florida-bred Arthur’s ride is out of the Point Given mare Points of Grace, a Canadian champion who also produced Grade 1 winner and Canadian champion Victory to Victory.
