Where's Rosie B earns fourth straight win with Foxy J.G. victory

Where’s Rosie B held off a game Villette to win the $75,800 Foxy J.G. Stakes by a neck Saturday at Parx Racing, earning her fourth consecutive win and her first stakes victory. Villette was trying to repeat in the seven-furlong race for Pennsylvania-bred fillies and mares, having won last year’s running by 2 1/2 lengths for the lone stakes win of her career.
Where’s Rosie B ($6.80), part of a coupled entry with Flynnie for trainer Mario Serey, led the field of nine every step of the way under jockey Hector Caballero. She built a 1 1/2-length advantage after a quarter-mile in 23.32 seconds and a half-mile in 46.06, with Flynnie in closest pursuit.
Villette and jockey Frankie Pennington rallied three wide around the turn to get within a half-length of Where’s Rosie B at the top of the lane, and they quickly pulled even on the outside. The pair battled the rest of the way, with Where’s Rosie B never letting Villette put her nose in front. Where’s Rosie B finished in 1:23.44 on a fast track.
Where’s Rosie B, a homebred for Michael Jester, has won six of her 27 career starts for $238,994. The 5-year-old Real Quiet mare had lost 12 straight races heading into the year, a stretch dating to October 2012. But she’s undefeated this year in four starts at Parx, having taken a $16,000 starter allowance in January, a $38,800 statebred allowance in February, and a $58,780 allowance against open company in March. She’s 4 for 5 with a second-place finish at Parx.
