Whatchatalkinabout pulls away in slop to take New York Breeders' Futurity
?q=100)
Whatchatalkinabout continued to flatter the form of this New York-bred 2-year-old class with a dominant victory in Monday’s 161,547 New York Breeders’ Futurity at Finger Lakes.
Whatchatalkinabout ($5.40), trained by Wesley Ward, won his debut at Belmont Park and then was third in the Funny Cide Stakes at Saratoga. The winner of that race, The Wine Steward, went on to finish second in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland and is a Breeders’ Cup candidate. The Funny Cide runner-up, El Grande O, is a statebred stakes winner.
Whatchatalkinabout was ridden by Joel Rosario - his first mount at Finger Lakes. The favored son of Dialed In rallied five wide on the turn to easily come to the throatlatch of stakes-placed Trust Fund. He drew clear to win by 3 3/4 lengths, finishing the six furlongs in 1:11.92 over a sloppy track.

Leon Reed Memorial
Earlier on the card, Allure of Money scored another stakes win at Finger Lakes, coming from last of five in the stretch for a 2 1/2-length win in the $50,000 Leon Reed Memorial.
Allure of Money ($15.40), ridden by Luis Perez for Michael S. Ferraro, won the New York Derby at Finger Lakes earlier this year.
