Coady Photography Weast Hill, winner of last year's Rainbow Stakes at Oaklawn, is among the contenders in Friday's eighth race.

Oaklawn features a couple of high-end optional-claiming races for sprinters on Friday’s card. Well Mannered, who faced eventual champion sprinter Runhappy last summer at Ellis Park, leads the eighth race, an optional $40,000 claiming race over six furlongs.

Well Mannered hooked Runhappy at the same level July 31 and finished third to the horse who would go on to win the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. Alex Canchari has the mount on Well Mannered for Chieftain Stables and trainer Randy Morse.

Others in the field include Conquest Bigluck E, who was third in the $131,000 Woodstock in April at Woodbine, and Weast Hill, the winner of last year’s Rainbow Stakes at Oaklawn.
