Welder outlasts Mr. N in Silver Goblin Stakes

Welder was always prominent for a half-length win over Mr. N in the $50,000 Silver Goblin Stakes on Friday night at Remington Park.
It was another 4 1/2 lengths back to Star’s Valentino in third.
The Silver Goblin was a 6 1/2-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up bred in Oklahoma. The race is named for the millionaire who was bred in Oklahoma.
Welder ($3.40) dueled with Mr. N through an opening quarter in 22.03 seconds and a half-mile in 44.38 and had more, going on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:16.16.
Travis Cunningham was aboard the winner for trainer Boyd Finnell.
Welder won the fourth stakes race of his career with the victory. He earned $30,000, which was his ninth from 15 starts. Welder has now earned $305,601. He is a son of The Visualiser and races for Ra-Max Farms.
** Remington-based rider Richard Eramia will enter Saturday night's card with 1,996 Thoroughbred wins in North America. He has seven mounts on the program.
** Remington will race Monday and Tuesday, but will be dark on Wednesday and Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving.
