Welder delivers at short price in Silver Goblin Stakes

Welder won his fourth consecutive stakes race of the Remington Park meet on Friday night, roaring to a 6 1/4-length win over Shannon C in the $70,000 Silver Goblin. It was another length back to Rockport Cat in third.
The Silver Goblin went with a field of four after the scratch of Mr. N. There was win wagering only, and Welder returned $2.10.
Welder has rolled a perfect meet at Remington, winning the $70,000 Remington Park Sprint on Sept. 7, the $159,000 David M. Vance on Sept. 30, the $130,000 Oklahoma Classics Sprint on Oct. 17, and the Silver Goblin.
On Friday night, he tracked Shannon C through an opening quarter in 22.50 seconds and a half-mile in 44.75 before overtaking that one and increasing his advantage to the wire in the 6 1/2-furlong race for Oklahoma-breds. Welder covered the distance on a fast track in 1:15.61.
“Welder, he just carried me there,” said Remington leading rider David Cabrera, who was winning his third race on the card.
Welder is a son of The Visualiser who races for the Ra-Max Farms operation of Clayton Rash. He is trained by Teri Luneack. Welder could run next at the Oaklawn meet that opens in January, Luneack told publicity at Remington. The horse has now won 15 of 23 starts and earned $635,151.
