Wednesday allowance features among Single 6 races

Tom Keyser Lady Kate is a big player in a Churchill allowance sprint on Wednesday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Back-to-back allowances, both with full fields of fillies and mares, highlight a 10-race Wednesday card that kicks off the final five-day stretch of the Churchill fall meet.
Race 8 is a $99,000 second-level route that’s scheduled for 1 1/8 miles on turf – although rain was forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, meaning a seven-horse also-eligible list might well come into play.
Race 9 is a $97,000 first-level sprint in which Lady Kate stands to benefit from a recent comeback start for Eddie Kenneally.
Both races are part of the 20-cent Single 6 (races 5-10) that starts Wednesday with a carryover of $186,622. A mandatory disbursement of the Single 6 and all pools will be held Sunday with the meet’s end.
