Weather may disrupt Game Winner's work schedule

Emily Shields Undefeated BC Juvenile hero Game Winner had his first timed work of 2019 on Wednesday at Santa Anita.
ARCADIA, Calif. - A week of expected wet weather will disrupt the workout schedule for Game Winner, the undefeated winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs on Nov. 2.
Game Winner worked three furlongs in 35.20 seconds on Jan. 9, his first work since the BC Juvenile. Trainer Bob Baffert on Sunday said he had no plans for Game Winner’s next workout.
“Not with this rain,” he said.
Game Winner is expected to have a two-race campaign before the start of Triple Crown racing. The colt could have his 3-year-old debut in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes at 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita on March 9.
Baffert turned 66 on Sunday.
