Charles Town will cancel all three days of live racing this week, from Thursday to Saturday, due to “a water line leak near the main track.” Racing is expected to resume on Thursday, May 28, while plans are currently being made to potentially reschedule the canceled race dates. According to local trainer Tim Grams, the water line cuts under the track from a nearby street to serve various purposes in the infield. The line began leaking underneath the track, requiring repairs to ensure the integrity of the racing surface. Heavy rains are expected Wednesday night, which were not expected to help matters before the decision was made to cancel for the week.  The water line leak also has partially interrupted training at Charles Town, though horses can still work over a smaller oval within walking distance of the main track. Grams said Charles Town officials have arranged for horsemen to work in shifts to accommodate the training schedule. :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing!
