Wasted Tears in foal to Malibu Moon

Wasted Tears, the multiple Grade 2 winner who foaled a colt by Malibu Moon in January, is back in foal to the same stallion, said her owner, Bart Evans. The colt was the first foal for Wasted Tears, who is based at Stonehaven in Versailles, Ky.

“She’s basking in motherhood,” said Evans, who also bred and trained Wasted Tears.

Evans on Friday night will send out a half-brother to Wasted Tears, If Ever, in a maiden special weight race at Lone Star Park. A 5-year-old, If Ever is the final foal to race from Wishes and Roses, the late dam of Wasted Tears, as well as her fellow stakes-winning siblings, Wishingitwas and Almost Certain.

Malibu Moon is the sire of Kentucky Derby winner Orb.
