Warren's Showtime rallies to China Doll score

ARCADIA, Calif. – Warren’s Showtime won her third career stakes, and second in open company, with a late rally in Saturday’s $106,000 China Doll Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.
Favored in a field of 13, Warren’s Showtime ($8) closed from eighth in the final quarter-mile to win by a half-length over an unlucky Stela Star, a 3-1 shot who broke slowly and rallied wide to claim second.
Trained by Craig Lewis and ridden Saturday by apprentice jockey Jorge Velez, Warren’s Showtime ran a mile on turf in 1:36.24.

Bella Vita, who led in early stretch, held third.
Warren’s Showtime, by Clubhouse Ride, has won four of seven starts and earned $302,251 for owners Benjamin and Sally Warren. She won the Surfer Girl Stakes against open company here last October and the California Cup Oaks for statebreds on Jan. 18. Those races were run at a mile on turf.
