LEXINGTON, Ky. - Walmac Farm here will offer a $2,000 stud fee reduction for foals sired by the farm’s Kentucky stallions but born out of state in 2012. The deal applies to four of the farm’s five Kentucky stallions: Bandini, Hat Trick, Ready’s Image, and Songandaprayer. Successful Appeal, the most expensive of Walmac’s Kentucky stallions with a $15,000 advertised fee, was not included in the offer Walmac e-mailed to its stallion clients on Wednesday. To be eligible for the reduction, a mare must foal outside of Kentucky and produce a foal that is registered in a non-Kentucky statebred program. Ready’s Image and Songandaprayer stand for $6,500, Hat Trick stands for $6,000, and Bandini stands for $5,000 in 2011.
