Wagner appointed as chair of Association of Racing Commissioners International

Judy Wagner, winner of the 2001 National Handicapping Championship and a member of the Louisiana Racing Commission, has been appointed as chair of the Association of Racing Commissioners International for a two-year term.

Wagner, who also is a member of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s board of directors, will succeed Mark Lamberth as chair of the RCI and serve as chair through 2017. The RCI is an umbrella group for state racing commissions that recommends rules and regulations to its member jurisdictions.

Wagner has been an advocate of horseplayer issues since 2007, when she was named to the NTRA’s National Player’s Committee. She is a native of Mississippi who also has owned horses.
