Vinery acquires bloodstock agency

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Tom Simon's Vinery operation has opened a new bloodstock division at its Kentucky farm by privately acquiring Steve Castagnola's Kempton Bloodstock agency.

Castagnola, the former director of client development at Taylor made, went out on his own and formed Kempton Bloodstock in August 2009. He will now join Vinery as its director of bloodstock services.

"Steve brings over 14 years of experience, and we are excited about this new venture," Vinery's president, Tom Ludt, said. "Steve's knowledge and relationships with the industry are a valuable resource, and we look forward to his energy and passion. With the growth of our locations in Kentucky, Florida, and New York, we need a high-profile bloodstock agent to represent our organization."
