Victorious Vye stays unbeaten

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Heavily favored Victorious Vye, $3.10, was much the best in the $66,604 CTHS Sales Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Hastings on Saturday. Under a confident ride by Dave Wilson, Victorious Vye forced the early pace while going three wide around the first turn. After taking the lead on the stretch turn, she was never threatened and easily held off Therussianrocket to win by 3 1/2 lengths. Candleinthewindow made a late move to get up for third.

"When you're on the best horse, you just try to keep them out of trouble," Wilson said.

Trained by Rob Gilker, Victorious Vye has won both of her starts impressively and will likely be the favorite in the $100,000 Sadie Diamond Futurity on Oct. 3.

Final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:18.77.
