Veterans to be honored on Monday

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Aqueduct will be open for live racing Monday, the day before Veterans Day, and will take the time to salute war veterans. First post for Monday’s nine-race card is 12:20 p.m.

Following the fourth race, the New York Racing Association will conduct a special trophy presentation recognizing the courage and sacrifices made by service members and veteran-services employees.

Following the fifth race, NYRA will conduct a special trophy presentation featuring representatives of Hope for the Warriors, supporting post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.

NYRA Rewards members possessing a valid military ID will get free admission Monday into Longshots, Aqueduct’s simulcast center located on its second floor. Also, the first 1,000 fans with valid military ID who purchase a program or Daily Racing Form will be provided a coupon for a free $2 wager that day.
