Vet pleads guilty to drug charge

An assistant state veterinarian for the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority who is currently on paid administrative leave pleaded guilty on Wednesday to seven felony charges of prescription-drug fraud.

The veterinarian, Camme Miles, entered the guilty plea as part of an agreement with prosecutors in Jefferson Circuit Court. The agreement stipulates that Miles will be placed in a program similar to supervised probation for five years, according to her lawyer, G. Murray Turner.

Miles, 42, was accused by prosecutors of obtaining amphetamines for her own personal use.
