Civilian Drone and Super Chapter picked up the first wins of their respective careers in the two $53,500 New York Sire Stakes divisions for 2-year-old male trotters that were part of stakes-filled Thursday night at Vernon Downs.
Coming off a third-place finish in the sire stakes opener at Saratoga, Civilian Drone (Yannick Gingras) moved out of third past the 27 3/5 quarter in the opening flight and wrestled command away from Gangsta Talk (Ake Svanstedt) after the 58 1/5 half. Civilian Drone would keep the top spot from there, rolling through three-quarters in 1:27 4/5 before using a 27 3/5 final kicker to defeat Gangsta Talk by a length and a half in 1:55 2/5. Moonshot S (Scott Zeron) grabbed third.
