Vannacide, who has won at least one race at Arapahoe Park every year since 2003, picked up her second stakes of the meet Saturday when she got up by a neck in the $39,270 Spicy. It was her fourth win in the mile and a sixteenth race for fillies and mares bred in Colorado. Vannacide ($5.60) raced in seventh early and put in a determined bid through the stretch to overtake favorite She’s Outrageous. She covered the distance on a fast track in 1:47.52. Russell Vicchrilli was aboard the winner for trainer Kenneth Gleason. Vannacide, 9, won her career debut at Arapahoe, on July 4, 2003. Through the years, she has won 14 races at the track, 11 of them stakes. Her other stakes win the current meet came in the $30,000 Columbine. It was also her fourth win in that race.
