Darley Stud has retired the 2009 Breeders&rsquo; Cup Juvenile winner, Vale of York, to its Kildangan Stud in Ireland. He will stand for 5,000 euros, or about $6,800, in 2011.A 3&#45;year&#45;old Invincible Spirit colt defeated eventual juvenile champion Lookin at Lucky in last year&rsquo;s Juvenile. Racing in Europe earlier in the season, Vale of York also won England&rsquo;s Peter Willett Stardom Stakes at Goodwood, finished second in the Group 1 Gran Criterium in Italy, and placed third in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes at Ascot.Vale of York is out of the Halling mare Red Vale and is her first stakes&#45;winners.Darley also announced Thursday that it will retire Group 3 winner Alexandros, a 5&#45;year&#45;old Kingmambo horse, to Haras du Logis in France. The multiple Group 1&#45;placed runner will stand for 4,000 euros, about $5,440. He is a son of the King of Kings mare Arlette and is her first group or graded winner.
