SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Untapable, second in the Grade 3 Shuvee Handicap on Aug. 2, worked five furlongs in 1:01.80 over the Oklahoma training track Saturday in preparation for a rematch with Stopchargingmaria in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign on Aug. 29.
Working in company with Gold Hawk, Untapable went her first three furlongs in 37.60 seconds, came home in 24.20, and galloped out six furlongs in 1:15.80 and seven furlongs in 1:29.80.
“She went beautiful, just nice and smooth; she looks great,” trainer Steve Asmussen said. “I don’t like her getting beat, but I sure like where she’s at today – very happy, very healthy.”
Stopchargingmaria also worked Saturday, going four furlongs in 49.20 seconds in company with Daredevil.
