Unreachable Star uncorks strong late run

John McDulin|May 31, 2009

Unreachable Star unleashed a powerful run in the stretch to win the $70,000 William Henry Harrison at Indiana Downs on Saturday night. Ridden by leading rider Orlando Mojica, Unreachable Star was last in the early going. Mojica angled the 5-year-old out on the turn, and when asked, Unreachable Star blew past the filed of 12 Indiana-bred and -sired horses to win by two widening lengths.

Trained by Tim Glyshaw, Unreachable Star was making his first start of the year following a 6 1/2-month layoff. Liepers Fork, under Julio Felix, led late but had to settle for second, a half-length in front of Oak Rich in third. Unreachable Star ran the six furlongs over a fast track in 1:10.40 and returned $8 to win.
