Unquiet returns from extended layoff in Wednesday feature
Unquiet is the best horse in the sixth race at Northlands Park, a $12,500 claiming race for 3-year-olds and up going six furlongs that will serve as Wednesday’s feature. However, there are some obvious concerns with a horse that is making his first start since he romped by 8 1/2 lengths in a $17,500 claiming race going 6 1/2 furlongs on July 15, 2013.
Unquiet’s strong connections of leading trainer Greg Tracy and leading jockey Rico Walcott help alleviate some of the concerns about a horse coming back from more than a yearlong layoff. He also may have tipped his hand when he worked a bullet five furlongs in 1:01.60 Aug. 6.
KEY CONTENDERS
Unquiet (Last 3 Beyers: 75-70-65)
◗ Based at Hastings for most of his career, Unquiet ran big races in both of his starts at Northlands. As well as his easy win in his last start, he finished second in the $50,000 Western Canada Handicap as a 3-year-old in 2012.
◗ He will be making his first start since being claimed by Tracy, who, according to DRF's Formulator, has a 21 percent strike rate running back newly claimed horses.
FORMULATOR FACT: Over the past five years, Tracy has won with 11 percent of his starters returning from an absence of a year or more.

Swiss Idol (Last 3 Beyers: 41-67-64)
