Unhindered holds on in My Dear

ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Favored Unhindered held off 9-5 second choice Sweet Dreams to land her first stakes Saturday at Woodbine in the $126,500 My Dear.
Unhindered went straight to the front under Luis Contreras, while Sweet Dreams stalked in second under Eurico Da Silva, who rode both 2-year-old fillies when they won first time out.
Unhindered opened up a three-length gap midway on the turn, and then coasted home on top by three-quarters of a length, in a time of 58.33 for the five furlongs. Happy to Go rallied wide for third, in a field reduced to six with the scratch of Dixie Twist.
Unhindered ($4) collected $75,000 for owners Bob Marcocchio and Ron Magers.
Trainer Ralph Biamonte said he wasn’t overly concerned with running Unhindered back two weeks after she notched her debut by five lengths.
“We didn’t want to come back in two weeks, but we really had nowhere else to go,” Biamonte said. “The first race wasn’t that difficult for her. She was in good order. She ate well, and trained well. We trained her easily, and she ran well. She’s a good filly.”
