Uncle Mo filly leads the way on third day of Fasig-Tipton October sale

A $350,000 Uncle Mo filly led Wednesday’s third session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale, which showed some declines in the penultimate session after opening with two days of big gains.
A total of 244 yearlings sold on Wednesday for gross receipts of $7,990,900, a drop of 26 percent in revenues from last year's third session, when 261 yearlings sold for $10,804,100. Not only did last year's third session sell more horses, those included the $700,000 sale topper.
The session average price Wednesday was $32,750, a drop of 21 percent from $41,395 – which was the highest daily average from the four sessions last year. The median remained unchanged at $12,000.
The buyback rate was 24 percent, compared with 20 percent.

Noted bloodstock agent Mike Ryan signed for the session-topping Uncle Mo filly, on behalf of e Five Racing. The filly was consigned by Romans Racing and Sales, as agent.
The filly is out of the stakes-placed winning Unbridled's Song mare Miss Luann, whose three starters are all winners. Those are led by Group 3 winner Nomorerichblondes and stakes winner Sharp Kitty.
Miss Luann is a half-sister to stakes-placed Choice Play. Notable names appearing on the catalog page include Grade/Group 1 winners Duke of Marmalade, Gabina, Galetto, Goldmark, Latin American, and Vigliotto and graded/group stakes winners Bizardo Sam, Celtic Celeb, Gaelic Bird, Gaelic Queen, Marchfield, Minister Eric, Orante, Pico Teneriffe, and Wixim.
