Unbridled Energy wins San Fernando Breeder's Cup

ARCADIA, Calif. - Unbridled Energy ended a three-race losing streak with late rally in Saturday's Grade 2 , the most significant win of the colt's career.
The victory gave trainer Richard Mandella his second consecutive win in the San Fernando; he won with Minister Eric in 2005.
Unbridled Energy won by three-quarters of a length over Canteen, who rallied from fourth to reach contention in the final furlong. Greeley's Galaxy, part of a 9-5 favored entry with Osidy, finished third in the field of nine 4-year-olds.
Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Unbridled Energy finished 1 1-16 miles in 1:44.33. He was sixth early, well off the pace of 22.96 and 46.33 seconds set by Swiss Lad.
Owned by Doug Cauthen, Unbridled Energy has won half of his eight starts. He won the Grade 3 Marine Stakes at Woodbine last May.
Unbridled Energy joined Mandella's stable in the fall. In his first start in California, Unbridled Energy finished fifth in the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes over seven furlongs on Dec.
