Book’em Danno will put a perfect record on the line Sunday when he stretches out to a mile for the $150,000 Nashua at Aqueduct. The one-turn race for 2-year-olds is one of three stakes on the card. The $150,000 Tempted is for 2-year-old fillies at a mile, and the $135,000 Pumpkin Pie drew sprint stalwart Frank’s Rockette. The Nashua field of five includes Yo Yo Candy, winner of the Grade 3 Sanford in July at Saratoga, and Private Desire, a recent maiden special weight winner with a Beyer Speed Figure of 94. Book’em Danno has won the first three races of his career by a combined 18 lengths. He dominated fellow New Jersey-breds in a maiden special weight Aug. 12, then conquered open company one start later in the track’s Smoke Glacken. Book’em Danno won an off-the-turf running of the $145,000 Futurity at the Belmont meet at Aqueduct on Oct. 8. “He’s just pure racehorse,” trainer Derek Ryan said. “He’s doing good. He’s had two solid works since his last race. He’s going the right way, getting better and better.” Book’em Danno will be racing beyond six furlongs for the first time in the Nashua. Ryan said the horse’s pedigree supports him over more ground, as he’s out of a mare by Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Ghostzapper. He also said the horse’s running style should serve him well Sunday. :: Bet with the Best! Whatever you ask him to do, he’ll do.” Jose Ortiz has the mount from post 2 for Atlantic Six Racing. Yo Yo Candy reached a career high point in the Sanford, when he settled just off the pace and went on to a 2 1/4-length win. In his only start since, he was part of a hot pace before finishing 10th in the Grade 1 Hopeful on Sept. 4 at Saratoga. Yo Yo Candy has worked a bullet five-eighths from the gate as part of his prep work for the Nashua, going in 1:00.40 on Oct. 28 at Parx Racing. Kendrick Carmouche has the mount from post 5 for Happy Tenth Stable and trainer Daniel Velazquez. Private Desire won his maiden in his second career start Sept. 16 at the Belmont meet at Aqueduct. He set the pace en route to a 1 1/4-length victory in the maiden special weight over 6 1/2 furlongs. In his debut, Private Desire was fourth in the slop at Saratoga. Private Desire’s most recent start yielded a Beyer of 94, the best career number in the Nashua. Javier Castellano has the mount from post 3 for trainer Todd Pletcher. Billal, a maiden special weight winner over seven furlongs last out at Aqueduct, breaks from the rail. Where’s Chris gets a rematch with Book’em Danno after finishing third to him last out in the Futurity. Tempted Stakes Shimmering Allure could go favored in the Tempted, which drew a field of 10 that includes recent maiden special weight winners Caitlinhergrtness, Vino Rouge, Enfuega, and Caress. Shimmering Allure exits a fourth-place finish in the Grade 1 Alcibiades at Keeneland. The winner of the race, Candied, was to have run back Friday in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita. Shimmering Allure arrived in New York on Thursday. “She traveled up there from Kentucky and has settled in good already,” trainer Kenny McPeek said Friday. “We’re excited.” Shimmering Allure, who was making her two-turn debut in the Alcibiades, is cutting back to one turn for the Tempted. She is proven at the race’s one-turn mile trip, as she won a maiden special weight at the distance Sept. 20 at Churchill Downs. Shimmering Allure had run second in back-to-back maiden races before the breakthrough victory that sent her to the Alcibiades. “She’s been an ultra-consistent filly,” McPeek said. “Her race in the Alcibiades was respectable. We’re just trying to search down some black type. “She’s run well at this distance. I suspect she’ll give us another good one.” Junior Alvarado has the mount from the rail for Walking L Thoroughbreds. :: Get Daily Racing Form Past Performances – the exclusive home of Beyer Speed Figures“I’d rather she were outside,” McPeek said. “We’ll let Junior figure it out.” Caitlinhergrtness won a maiden special weight at a mile at Aqueduct in her last start Sept. 28. The Beyer Speed Figure of 72 she earned is the second-best last-race number in the Tempted behind the 75 that Shimmering Allure put up in the Alcibiades. Pletcher trains Caitlinhergrtness for Siena Farm and WinStar Farm. John Velazquez has the mount on the front-running daughter of Omaha Beach from post 7. Vino Rouge was a maiden special weight winner at this distance Oct. 1 at Aqueduct. Enfuega’s debut win last out came over 6 1/2 furlongs in a Sept. 28 maiden special weight at Aqueduct. Caress won over six furlongs in her debut, which came in an Oct. 5 maiden special weight at Aqueduct. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
