Ullery joins Keeneland sales staff

Jesse Ullery will join Keeneland’s sales department as a sales associate, further solidifying his ties with the auction company with which he has served as a pedigree announcer since 2014.

Prior to joining Keeneland, Ullery was the director of racing at Fair Meadows and Will Rogers Downs in Oklahoma.

“We are pleased to have Jesse join the Keeneland Sales team,” Keeneland president and CEO Bill Thomason said. “His longtime involvement in equine auctions combined with his racing experience make him uniquely qualified for this position.”

A Montana native raised in Phoenix, Ariz., Ullery first participated in horse auctions while working summers at a monthly sale in Montana managed by his father, Keith Ullery. He later worked at sales conducted by the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society in Ontario, Heritage Place in Oklahoma, and Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.

Ullery became the track announcer at Fair Meadows in Tulsa in 2007, and was named to the same post at Will Rogers and the now-defunct Blue Ribbon Downs the following year.

Ullery will begin his new duties as sales associate on Feb. 22 and will continue to serve as an announcer during the Keeneland sales.
