OLDSMAR, Fla. - Two Wonders, winner of seven of her last 12 starts, will carry high weight of 121 pounds in the filly and mare division of the Tampa Turf Test when the starter allowance series kicks off Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs. The series, for horses who have started for a claiming price of $16,000 or less the past two seasons, also has an open division that goes as race 9. Both one-mile races drew full fields of 10. Two Wonders, trained by Jamie Ness, ran sixth behind heavily favored Speed Seeker last time out. Speed Seeker led from the start in that race while dropping into allowance company from stakes competition. Prior to that effort, Two Wonders had rallied through the stretch to capture a $16,000 starter allowance at the same one-mile distance as Saturday’s race in her first start of the meet locally. She won her previous start against second-level optional $25,000 claimers at Laurel Park as a 24-1 outsider. Although she carries top weight of 121 pounds, Two Wonders will actually be dropping four pounds from her most recent two starts as she shoots for her 18th career win. Cuppy Cakes, who won three of five outings over grass here last season, including the Distaff Turf Stakes for Florida-breds, showed her fondness for the Tampa turf again last time out as she rushed up outside out of the second turn to challenge for the lead with Two Wonders through the stretch before being outkicked to the wire by a length. R U Dreaming chased a hot pace in the same race with the top two runners last time out and gained a short lead after six furlongs in 1:10.90, only to weaken in the final furlong to wind up third in her first start in six weeks. In a field that isn’t overloaded with speed types,  R U Dreaming figures to be on or near the lead from the start and also figures to be fitter for this one. Awalkinthemoonlite is one of two Tony Granitz trainees in Saturday’s field and she shouldn’t be taken lightly. A winner of two of her last five, Awalkinthemoonlite moves back to turf, where she has three wins and three seconds from 14 lifetime outings.           Race 7 KEY CONTENDERS Awalkinthemoonlite  (Last 3 Beyers 72-70-63) Rarely runs a poor race, gets the meet’s dominant turf rider, and should also be a square price in her  local debut. Two Wonders (Last 3 Beyers 73-78-72)  Looks like she will be the post-time favorite and deserves that backing. When she isn’t too ambitiously placed she is hard to handle. Should be in perfect stalking position and she and Ronnie Allen Jr. seem to have a good thing going. Defoe Street  (Last 3 Beyers70-72-77) Comes off a six-week break for trainer Carl Nafzger, who quietly won at 29 percent last season. Has a solid second. over the Tampa turf in her background and despite his outside post, might be the value play of the group. R U Dreaming (Last 3 Beyers 71-71-74)  Is the best speed rival of this field in a race that isn’t overloaded with speed types. Figures to be fitter for this race and if not pushed early, could take some beating.
