Two WCH qualifiers on holiday weekend
Double your chance of winning into the World Championship of Handicapping this weekend on DRF Tournaments. For the first time, DRFT will be offering two Grade 1 qualifiers for the WCH on the same weekend, one on Saturday and another on the holiday Monday.
Both events have the same terms: Players put up $580 and one in 10 will win their $5,000 spots to the $1 million, no-takeout finals of the WCH, an online contest that will take place exclusively at DRF Tournaments on Feb. 3-4. There will be Round 1 contests on Saturday and Sunday that feed into Monday’s event. For those, players put up $95 and one in seven will advance to the Grade 1. In the next few days, players can expect an announcement about special plans for the final run-up to the World Championship of Handicapping.
Also on Monday, there will be a last-chance qualifier for Pegasus World Cup Betting Challenge. For that one, players will put up $960 and one in 15 will win their $12,000 buy-ins for the Pegasus contest, a money-added, no-entry-fee, live-bank event taking place Jan. 26-27. Be on the lookout Saturday and Sunday for feeders into that contest.
It had initially been reported that players choosing to compete in the Pegasus contest offsite via Xpressbet would have to pay a $1,000 supplemental fee. That fee will now be waived for players purchasing two entries to the event.
Finally, there is a one-day qualifier for the Horse Player World Series on Monday. Players put up $94 and one in 19 will advance to the HPWS, a mythical-money event at the Orleans Las Vegas March 8-10.
In addition to feeders and qualifiers for those three contests, DRFT hosts an appealing array of other games every operating day. One great place to start your contest play is in a match-up contest. In a match-up, as the name suggests, you are facing just one other player. All the match-up contests on DRFT utilize the all-in format, where all picks must be in before the scheduled post time of the contest’s first race. Matchup winnings can be used to fund future contest play.
