Two-turn stakes on deck for Miss Sky Warrior

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Kelly Breen said that Tempted winner Miss Sky Warrior will be considered for a return trip to New York for the Grade 2 Demoiselle at Aqueduct on Nov. 26.
Breen said that if Miss Sky Warrior comes out of the Tempted well, he would like to run her once more this year in either the Demoiselle or the Golden Rod at Churchill Downs the same day. The Demoiselle is at 1 1/8 miles, while the Golden Rod is at 1 1/16 miles.
Miss Sky Warrior was on or just off the lead in the Tempted, and Breen said he was surprised that she was so eager. He hopes the two-turn configuration of the Demoiselle or Golden Rod “might be a little more relaxing for her.”
Breen said the one-turn mile of the Tempted can be tough on a 2-year-old and that she might have been getting fatigued, which caused her to switch back to her incorrect lead nearing the wire.
Meanwhile, Breen said that Stonetastic, who won the Pumpkin Pie Stakes on closing day at Belmont Park, was shipped to south Florida with the intent to run in the Sugar Swirl on Dec. 17 at Gulfstream in what would be her final career start.
“If there are any hiccups in her training, she could just as well be retired,” Breen said.
