Two pick fives will link Gulfstream, Santa Anita stakes on March 5
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Two new innovative wagers are being promoted by 1/ST tracks for March 5, the next major stakes date at both Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita.
A combined 15 graded stakes worth more than $4 million are being run between the two 1/ST tracks, prompting the creation of the Coast to Coast All Turf Stakes Pick 5 and a Coast to Coast All Dirt Stakes Pick 5. Further information will be available in the coming days.
Nine graded stakes led by the Fountain of Youth will be carded March 5 at Gulfstream, while six graded races led by the Santa Anita Handicap will be run the same day at Santa Anita. Nominations are due Sunday for the Gulfstream stakes and on Thursday for the Santa Anita stakes.
In addition to the new parimutuel wagers, a free contest will offer a $5 million jackpot for an entry or entries selecting the winners of all 15 stakes.
