Two new officers at Woodbine

Nick Eaves has been elected a director of Woodbine Entertainment Group and appointed president and chief operating officer, the corporation announced on Friday.

Eaves will report directly to David Willmot, chairman and chief executive officer of WEG.

At a meeting of the board of directors, Clay Horner was elected vice-chairman.

Eaves, 38, has been a member of Woodbine's management team for 12 years and mostly recently held the position of senior vice president.

Horner, 47, is a prominent business lawyer who is a partner in the Osler firm in Toronto. He also is a co-owner and co-breeder of Doonbeg, one of Canada's top 3-year-old pacers and a candidate for championship honors in his division.
