Two Emmys drops off surprise second to Colonel Liam
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A pair of third-level allowances with $106,000 purses anchor a Friday program at Churchill, with soggy conditions mid-week expected to clear.
Those co-features go back to back as races 7 and 8, making both races key links in all the late multi-race wagers. Race 7 is for 3-year-old and up turf milers, while race 8 is for 3-year-old and up sprinters. Neither has a standout favorite.
Two Emmys, shipping in from Chicago for trainer Hugh Robertson, is a lukewarm program choice in race 7. The 5-year-old gelding will be making his first start since outrunning his 24-1 odds as the runner-up to Colonel Liam in the Grade 2 Muniz Memorial on March 20 over the Fair Grounds turf, so clearly the 11-week layoff is one of the main factors to consider.

Likewise, Get the Prize is given only a very slight edge on the morning line facing five others in race 8, which goes at six furlongs. None of the rest are pegged any higher than 6-1, showing how well matched the field is on paper.
