Two days of trials for Heritage Place Futurity begin Friday
The clock will provide the most important numbers at Remington Park on Friday and Saturday night during the 350-yard time trials for the Heritage Place Futurity.
The five fastest times on each program, regardless of finishing positions, will advance to the final on May 30, which has a projected purse of $1 million. The Heritage Place Futurity is the richest race of the Remington Park Quarter Horse meeting, which began March 6 and concludes May 30.
First post time Friday is 6 p.m. Central. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
The 96 runners entered in 10 trials on Friday include 14 winners, 29 first-time starters, and 53 maidens who have started at least once.
One of the most prolific winners of the young season is Best of You, who starts from the rail in the seventh race.
Trained by Eddie Willis, Best of You won the $48,500 Laico Bird Stakes for Oklahoma-breds at 350 yards on April 18 for her second win in three starts. Best of You won a maiden special weight race for Oklahoma-breds at 250 yards in her second start on March 19.

Jess Is the Boss, who was third in the $891,900 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity at 330 yards on April 18, is the richest runner in Friday’s trials with earnings of $107,189. Trained by Josue Ponce, Jess Is the Boss won a division of the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred trials on April 4 in his second start.
There are notable runners in several trials.
Jess Kiss Me, eighth in the $383,700 Oklahoma Futurity at 300 yards on March 21, starts in the second trial, but must beat the well-regarded first-time starter Coronados Chick, a filly trained by John Stinebaugh.
Cartels Dynasty, seventh in the Oklahoma Futurity, will be favored in the third race.
Card One Starter, the mount of leading rider James Flores, is the only winner among 10 entrants in the fifth race, which includes nine others with race experience.
Empressum, the sharp winner of a maiden special weight race at 250 yards in his debut March 28, will be a short-priced favorite in the eighth race.
In the ninth race, the Willis-trained A Political Passion, who won a maiden special weight race at 250 yards under a hand ride as the odds-on favorite March 13, starts against One Incredible Hock, who was ninth in the Oklahoma Futurity.
Willis, who led the trainer standings through Sunday, has runners in each trial. In the final race, Willis starts the unbeaten Apollitical Bird, who won a maiden special weight race at 250 yards on March 18 and a division of the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred trials on April 4.
Apollitical Bird was timed in 16.812 seconds in that 330-yard trial, which was not quick enough to gain a berth into the final. The final qualifying berth that evening was clocked in 16.809.
