Two-day pick six carryover of $218,963 at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. - For the first time at the Santa Anita winter-spring meeting, there is a two-day carryover in the pick six on Sunday.
The bet was not hit on Friday or Saturday, giving Sunday’s $2 pick six a carryover of $218,963.
Sunday’s pick six covers the fifth through 10th races on a program that begins at 1 p.m. Pacific. The pool of new money may surpass $1 million.
The pick six races consist of three races on dirt and three on turf.
The sequence begins with the fifth race, a maiden race at a mile followed by a six-furlong turf race for $35,000 to $40,000 claimers.

The seventh race is a $20,000 claimer for maidens at six furlongs. The day’s main race is the eighth, the $100,000 Irish O’Brien Stakes for fillies and mares at about 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course.
The final two races are a one-mile race for $18,000 to $20,000 claimers that have not won three races, and a maiden race at a mile on turf.
Before scratches, the pick six races have fields of 5, 7, 6, 8, 8 and 9 entrants.
