Two day carryover: $349,000
ARCADIA, Calif.-For the second consecutive day, the pick six at Santa Anita was too tough for bettors, resulting in a carryover of $349,176 for Fridays eight-race program.
An upset by Dr. Zaentz ($33.80) in Thursdays seventh race helped produced the carryover.
Fridays eight-race program begins at 1 p.m. Pacific. The pick six covers the third through eighth races, with the third race scheduled off at 2:03 p.m.
Jockey Corey Nakatani will not ride on Friday, having suffered a collarbone injury on Wednesday. As a result, Aaron Gryder has picked up the mount on Antique Avenue in the fourth race.
The seventh race, a one-mile race on the main track, has seven runners, including 2007 stakes winner Slews Tizzy; Porto Santo, who has placed in two graded stakes in his last 12 starts; and the French stakes winner Blue Exit, who is making his stakes debut.
There is also a carryover in the $1 Super High Five of $52,747. The wager requires bettors to correctly select the first five finishers of the days final race. Friday, the last race is a maiden claimer for 2-year-olds over six furlongs that has drawn a field of 11. Beencaughtcheating, who drew the rail, is the 7-2 favorite on the morning line.
