TVG sponsoring BC Sprint

Television Games Network will be the new title sponsor of the Breeders' Cup Sprint when the $1 million race is run Oct. 29 at Belmont Park, it was announced Monday by TVG, Breeders' Cup Ltd., and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association.

TVG becomes the fifth title sponsor at the Breeders' Cup. The others are Dodge (BC Classic), John Deere (Turf), NetJets (Mile), and Bessemer Trust (Juvenile).

While NBC Sports retains exclusive airing rights to the Breeders' Cup races, TVG will provide extensive programming on the championship events before and after the NBC coverage. TVG also will be the producer of the Breeders' Cup simulcast show, which is shown at about 2,000 racetracks and wagering sites during the program.

California-based TVG, which was founded in 1998, became the first network to provide live coverage of the Eclipse Awards dinner in January.
