Turf should dry out for Saturday card
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In lieu of a stakes race Saturday, four allowances will serve as co-features of a 10-race Churchill card that starts at the usual 1 p.m. Eastern.
The richest of those four races is the ninth, which offers a purse of $95,000, including $40,200 in bonuses to registered Kentucky-breds. Crafty Daddy and Captivating Moon, the one-two finishers in the off-turf Opening Verse during Kentucky Derby week, are among the contenders in a well-matched field of 11 entered in the 1 1/16-mile race.
The other allowances go as races 3, 6, and 7.
After a soaking mid-week rain that forced races off the turf Thursday, a lengthy pattern of dry weather was in the regional forecast starting Friday. Sunshine and a high of 61 is the call for Saturday, so racing on the turf is likely. Live televised action of the entire card is available on FS2.

Churchill won’t race next Friday and Saturday while the Breeders’ Cup is being held just up the road at Keeneland – although with no fans being permitted at Keeneland, some horseplayers are planning to be at Churchill, which is open both days for simulcasting.
The next Churchill stakes is the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere on Nov. 14.
