Turbo Compressor to stand at Northwest Stud

Grade 1 winner Turbo Compressor will join the stallion roster at Northwest Stud in Ocala, Fla., for an advertised fee of $3,500.

The 5-year-old son of Halo’s Image will stand his first year at stud after a racing career that featured seven wins in 17 career starts for earnings of $953,960. His biggest win came in the Grade 1 United Nations Stakes in 2012, but he also won the listed Colonial Turf Cup Stakes on turf and the Curlin Stakes and Carl G. Rose Classic Handicap on the dirt. Turbo Compressor was campaigned during his racing career by P and G Stable and Off the Hook LLC and trained by Todd Pletcher.

Bred in Florida by Bridlewood Farm, Turbo Compressor is out of the unraced Wild Event mare Dixieland Event, whose six winners from seven foals to race also include stakes winner Stormy Dixie and stakes-placed Gelfenstein.

Turbo Compressor will be the third new sire on the Northwest Stud roster for 2014, joining Duke of Mischief, who will stand for $2,500 and Wrote, standing for $4,000.
