Tudox Expectations beats Hazit in Roar Stakes

Tudox Expectations upset the heavily favored Hazit in the $75,000 Roar Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. He paid $12.40 for his half-length victory over the favorite in the seven-furlong dash for 3-year-olds.
With Willie Martinez riding, Tudox Expectations settled into a stalking position early, made a strong move from the outside turning for home and, after taking over the lead midstretch, was all out to hold off Hazit, who ran an odd race. Hazit sat just off Aequor, who posted interior fractions of 22.84 and 45.44 seconds over the fast track. It looked like Hazit was dropping out of the race on the turn, but he rallied late to just miss. Transistor, last early, finished full of run to finish a neck behind Hazit.
The final time was 1:23.63
A Pennsylvania-bred colt by Any Given Saturday, Tudox Expectations is owned by Todux Farm and trained by Ron Potts.
