Trust Factor became a stakes winner on Monday, when he fought off Eden Grey’s Kitten for a 1 1/2-length victory in the $100,000 Louisiana Legends Turf at Louisiana Downs. Eden Grey's Kitten finished second, and it was 2 1/2 lengths back to Social Misfit in third.

The Louisiana Legends Turf shared a card with the $50,000 Louisiana Legends Turf Starter won by Farmerville ($6.20). The races were originally scheduled to be run at Evangeline Downs, but that track has been unable to use its turf course this meet and the races were moved to Louisiana Downs.

Trust Factor ($4.20) broke on top and set a pressured pace, dogged by Eden Grey's Kitten through an opening quarter in 23.48 seconds and a half-mile in 47.22 seconds. Trust Factor continued to lead through six furlongs in 1:11.02, then fought off Eden Grey's Kitten in the stretch to cover the about 1 1/16 miles on firm ground in 1:41.56.

Colby Hernandez was aboard Trust Factor for trainer Mike Maker.

Trust Factor came into the Louisiana Legends Turf off a fourth-place finish in an optional $35,000 claiming turf route June 3 at Arlington Park. He won three races during the recent meet at Fair Grounds. Trust Factor earned $60,000 for his win in the Louisiana Legends Turf, his fifth career victory from 10 starts. He has now earned $184,060.

Trust Factor races for Scrivener Stables. He is a son of Paddy O’ Prado and he was bred by J. Adcock and Hume Wornall.

Farmerville was always prominent for a 1 3/4-length win over Flit N Time in the Louisiana Legends Starter. Farmerville covered the about 7 1/2 furlongs on firm turf in 1:30.77. Tim Thornton was aboard for End Zone Athletics and trainer Karl Broberg.
