Truest of Them All brings win-early pedigree to Loyalty Stakes
Truest of Them All runs for the first time Saturday at Belterra Park in the $75,000 Loyalty Stakes for Ohio-accredited 2-year-olds. But the gelding, owned and trained by Mike Rone, is from a family that has had success early on.
Truest of Them All, by Alcindor and out of the unraced Shakespeare mare Be True, is a full brother to the stakes winners True Cinder and No Truer, both also owned and trained by Rone. True Cinder was multiple stakes placed while still a maiden. Now 4, she has six stakes victories and has finished second or third in stakes seven times. No Truer, 3, made her first start last fall in the Emerald Necklace Stakes, finishing third, and won the Glacial Princess Stakes in her next outing.
Rone will saddle another first-time starter in the Loyalty in Thorobeam Farm homebred Doc Gardner. That colt is by Stately Victor, as is Rone’s third starter in the race, Stone Cold Cat. Stone Cold Cat, who races as a homebred for Ronald Dewolf, finished fourth in a Thistledown maiden race in July in his only start.
Firsthand Justice and Hey Adrian each owns a maiden victory going the six-furlong distance of the Loyalty. Danefield was a debut winner going 5 1/2 furlongs.
The maidens Patti Go Girl and Touchnotthecomet complete the field.
