True Timber likely to go in Bold Ruler Handicap

Barbara D. Livingston True Timber has won consecutive allowance races for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin.
ELMONT, N.Y. – True Timber, who won a second straight allowance race on Sunday, likely will make his next start in the Grade 3, $200,000 Bold Ruler Handicap at Belmont Park on Oct. 27, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said.
True Timber chased the pacesetting Eight Town from the start in the Sunday allowance, and was able to collar that one in deep stretch to win by a half-length. True Timber had won a first-level allowance race here in June before sustaining a cut on a leg that precipitated a layoff.
True Timber ran six furlongs in 1:08.65 and earned a 95 Beyer Speed Figure on Sunday.
