Tricky Dust puts streak on line

Ty Wyant|Oct 18, 2006

Tricky Dust should be favored to secure his seventh straight win when he starts in Saturday's $60,000 Herman Jefferson Stakes, an 870-yard race at Zia Park.

The defending Herman Jefferson winner, Tricky Dust's six-race winning streak includes five stakes, all at 870 or 1,000 yards, and he has been the odds-on favorite in his latest four starts.

He will face five horses who have won 870-yard stakes in 2006 - Bang, a Thoroughbred who won the Special Hank Handicap; Sherrys Aria, who won the Red Cell New Mexico Distance Challenge; Curlys Fortune, winner of the Fine Loom Handicap; GHF Kool Kotton, who won the Red Cell Central Distance Challenge; and Roto Rooster, winner of two 2006 stakes and the 2005 Grade 1 Marathon National.
