SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The connections of Weyburn and Bourbonic both said Friday that their horses will not run in the Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers Stakes, which should leave the field at seven. The field, with riders, is expected to be Essential Quality (Luis Saez), Keepmeinmind, (Joel Rosario), Masqueparade (Miguel Mena), Midnight Bourbon (Ricardo Santana Jr.), Dynamic One (Irad Ortiz Jr.), Miles D (Flavien Prat), and King Fury (Jose Ortiz). The draw for the Travers will be Wednesday morning. Trainer Jimmy Jerkens said Weyburn is likely for the Pennsylvania Derby on Sept. 25.
