Trainer Pletcher tests positive for COVID-19

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher has tested positive for COVID-19, he confirmed via text message Sunday morning.
Pletcher texted that he received the results of a PCR test Sunday morning. He was not at the barn Sunday, but said he expects to be cleared to return to work on Thursday.
“Feel fine. Cleared for Thursday,” Pletcher, 54, texted.
Pletcher is scheduled to run Malathaat in Saturday’s Grade 1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga.
Pletcher won two races at Saratoga on Saturday and is the third-leading trainer at the meet with 14 victories.
On Aug. 6, Pletcher was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. He is the all-time leading trainer in purse money won with $410,782,516 and ranks seventh all-time in wins with 5,162.
